This chapel is the second most important place of pilgrimage of the Somme. It was built around 1160 after the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in an elm to a shepherd and it was recognized as miraculous and extended three times in the course of years.

In 1778 Queen Marie-Antoinette gave to the Virgin of Monflières a gold brocade dress to thank Her for the birth of her daughter Marie-Charlotte. Pilgrims that cross the threshold of this lovely chapel can admire the many Ex-voto covering the walls.
